Mukta is a group of kirtan musicians based in Charlottesville, dedicated to creating music that connects all participants in the space of the heart. We invite you to join in the joy of call and response chanting. No experience is necessary! All ages are welcome.

What We Offer

First Saturday Kirtan

Join us for our regularly scheduled kirtans every first Saturday of the month at Unity of Charlottesville, where the sounds of sacred Sanskrit chants pull participants into a shared experience of love and connection.

Other Events

Continuing events at Maplewood Studio in Roanoke, Pranapiloga in Culpeper, and Limberva in the Richmond area are being scheduled later this summer and will begin following our July and August break. Sign up below to keep informed by email.

Kirtan Jams

Come with your drums, harmoniums, musical instruments of any sort or just your voice to share in the fun of playing and chanting informally. Jams happen on random Friday nights and usually run from 6:00 pm to 7:30 or 8:00 or 9:00..... Bring a dish and stay for potluck afterwards.
